Acts of Apostles in the Early Church 

Antioch

Paul and Barnabas are dedicated by the church in Antioch for God's work. They depart on their first journey through Cyprus and Galatia.

Athens

Paul comes from Beroea to Athens, where he speaks to the people of Jesus and his resurrection. By his time the city's pride rested on faded laurels.

Corinth

Paul established a church here during Gallio's pre-consulship, arriving in AD 50. Acts 18 recounts Paul's 18-month stay at Corinth on his second journey.

Damascus

This city represented much more to Saul, the strict Pharisee, than any other stop on his campaign of repression. Damascus is where Christians and their new religion had to be stopped.

Ephesus

Paul passed through Ephesus on his way to Jerusalem and Antioch, leaving Priscilla and Aquila there to begin building a church.

Paul teaches the gospel in a lecture hall borrowed from someone named Tyrannus.

Jerusalem

Controversy over keeping the law leads to a special council. Delegates resolve the conflict and the news is taken back to Antioch.

Judea

Jesus ascends to heaven from the Mount of Olives outside Jerusalem. The followers of Christ return to the city to await the infilling of the Holy Spirit.

Peter gives a powerful sermon heard by Jews from across the Roman Empire. The Jerusalem church grows, but Stephen is martyred for his faith.

Macedonia

Barnabas travels to Cyprus, while Paul makes a second journey. 

Paul revisits churches in Galatia and heads toward Ephesus, but the Holy Spirit says no. He turns north toward Bithynia and Pontus, but is told not to go. 

Paul then receives the "Macedonian call," and follows the Spirit's leading into the cities of this region.

Samaria

Believers leave Jerusalem and spread the gospel to other cities. Philip takes the gospel into the land of Samaria, and to a man from Ethiopia.

Syria

Paul begins to persecute Christians but encounters Christ while traveling to Damascus. 

Paul becomes a believer but is opposed by disciples, and returns to Tarsus.

Barnabas seeks Paul and brings him to Antioch in Syria, and work together.
